Mengembangkan teknik pembimbingan skripsi atau thesis yang baik adalah modal utama menjadi pembimbing. Proses pembimbingan harus memberikan makna bukan hanya kepada mahasiswa namun juga kepada dosen yang membimbingnya. Salah satu kunci sukses membimbing adalah pengakuan kedua belah pihak untuk merasa memiliki research itu sendiri. Kajian yang dilakukan oleh mahasiswa haruslah menjadi bahan kajian dosen juga. Artinya penelitian mahasiswa harus sekaligus menjadi penelitian dosen dalam bentuk joint research. Sehingga mulai dari proses penulisan laporan, pengumpulan data, analisis data, pengembangan laporan dan terakhir pengembangan artikel untuk publikasi hendaknya dilakukan bersama sehingga antara dosen dan mahasiswa terdapat manfaat timbal balik. Strategi yang paling baik agar supaya hal ini terjadi adalah masuknya mahasiswa bimbingan itu kedalam research group (kelompok kajian) dosen yang bersangkutan. Bagaimana hal ini diwujudkan? Ikutilah  “Workshop on Research Supervision” yang dilaksanakan oleh IKIP PGRI Jember jam 08.00-14.30 di Aula IKIP Gedung 1. Materi dapat diunduh dalam menu download di halaman utama website ini.
